Greenhouse is where candidates live. CertAIn is how you decide.
Greenhouse is the system of record for a huge share of mid-market and enterprise recruiting. CertAIn isn't trying to replace it — we're the reasoning layer on top. Here's the honest comparison, and the one chart on pricing Greenhouse won't put on their site.
Where Greenhouse is stronger.
- The system of record. Greenhouse is where your candidates, jobs, interviews, and offers live. Ten-plus years of enterprise trust, deep integrations with everything, structured data model.
- Scorecards and structured interviewing. Greenhouse's opinionated take on interview kits, scorecards, and offer workflows is the closest thing to an industry standard.
- Compliance and reporting at scale. EEO, OFCCP, audit trail — the enterprise checkbox list is covered.
- Ecosystem. Every HR tool integrates with Greenhouse first. If you're building a recruiting stack, Greenhouse being in it is the normal starting point.
Where CertAIn is stronger.
- AI reasoning, not AI as a bolt-on. Greenhouse has added AI surfaces — candidate matching, job description assistance — but the AI is a layer on top of their ATS, not a purpose-built reasoning system. CertAIn is the opposite: the product is the reasoning.
- Stack-ranking with explanations. If you have 136 applicants in a Greenhouse pipeline, Greenhouse doesn't stack-rank them for you and won't explain the ranking in language you can defend. CertAIn does both. (Provenance: 2026-04-17 discovery call — "I have 136 applicants and only 25 would go to my interview, but they aren't stack-ranked in Greenhouse.")
- Transparent pricing. CertAIn's plans are published: $99, $249, $499 monthly. Greenhouse's pricing is sales-gated and, like most enterprise ATS contracts, typically includes annual renewal escalators that aren't visible at sign-time.
- Credit-based consumption model. You pay for the AI work you run, not a per-seat contract. For agencies, this is closer to how you already bill.
- Compliance-first AI architecture. CertAIn's architectural human-oversight commitment, bias-audit data export, and candidate AI disclosure template are day-one shipped. Greenhouse's enterprise customers get this via custom contract addendums and manual reporting.
- Four AI actions, not one. Ranking, Interview Prep, AI Evaluation, Interview Analysis — the full decision loop, not just the top-of-funnel match.

The transparent-pricing story
Enterprise ATS contracts commonly include a renewal escalator year over year that is rarely the first thing a buyer evaluates and is almost never on the pricing page. It's not a conspiracy, it's just how enterprise SaaS has priced for a decade. CertAIn's pricing is monthly, month-to-month, published on /pricing, and when we raise prices we'll raise them openly with notice — not as an auto-escalator buried in a renewal clause.
Migration path
You don't. Keep Greenhouse. CertAIn's Greenhouse integration (on roadmap, highest priority) pulls candidate + JD data into CertAIn, runs the AI actions, and pushes reasoning back onto the candidate record as notes or attachments. You never leave Greenhouse to use CertAIn — that was the #1 thing we heard in discovery about why other AI-recruiting tools failed with Greenhouse-native teams.
Provenance: 2026-04-17 discovery call, Jordan — "Can't do anything in the other tool. Why can't the initial platform just do it? Biggest peeve with them is that it didn't sync with Greenhouse."
Who should consider CertAIn alongside Greenhouse
- You run Greenhouse and your top pain is triaging 500–1,000 candidates per role, not anything else Greenhouse does
- You need stack-ranking with explanations your hiring managers will actually read
- Your legal team is asking about AEDT / AIVIA / EU AI Act and Greenhouse's standard enterprise contract isn't specific enough
- You're tired of AI features bolted onto your ATS that don't actually explain their output
